The compact Sony ECM-MS2 Electret condenser microphone is intended for use with handheld camcorders.

The compact 137 mm length keeps the microphone out of the way and makes it easier to transport. The ECM-MS2 can operate in both stereo and mono modes, increasing the microphone’s versatility. It is especially useful for capturing accurate ambient stereo sound when capturing dialogue with wireless microphones. As a result, the ECM-MS2 is well suited to on-location news-gathering and documentary filming.
